He shall say to the Lord: Thou art my protector, and my refuge: my God, in him will I trust.


The words of the double tongued are as if they were harmless: and they reach even to the inner parts of the bowels. Fear casteth down the slothful: and the souls of the effeminate shall be hungry.


0 If wisdom shall enter into thy heart, and knowledge please thy soul:


9 Hear thou, my son, and be wise: and guide thy mind in the way.


Take hold on her, and she shall exalt thee: thou shalt be glorified by her, when thou shalt embrace her.


7 Decline not to the right hand, nor to the left: turn away thy foot from evil. For the Lord knoweth the ways that are on the right hand: but those are perverse which are on the left hand. But he will make thy courses straight, he will bring forward thy ways in peace.


Say to wisdom: Thou art my sister: and call prudence thy friend,


Be not hasty to depart from his face, and do not continue in an evil work: for he will do all that pleaseth him:


Their love also, and their hatred, and their envy are all perished, neither have they any part in this world, and in the work that is done under the sun.


6 And I applied my heart to know wisdom, and to understand the distraction that is upon earth: for there are some that day and night take no sleep with their eyes.


1 So shall my word be, which shall go forth from my mouth: it shall not return to me void, but it shall do whatsoever I please, and shall prosper in the things for which I sent it.


7 For, amen, I say to you, many prophets and just men have desired to see the things that you see, and have not seen them, and to hear the things that you hear and have not heard them.


9 And taking him, they brought him to the Areopagus, saying: May we know what this new doctrine is, which thou speakest of?
