And they came to the place which God had shown him, where he built an altar, and laid the wood in order upon it: and when he had bound Isaac his son, he laid him on the altar upon the pile of wood.


8 Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the holocaust, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.


Then David said: This is the house of God, and this is the altar for the holocaust of Israel.


9 And his brother Asaph, who stood on his right hand, Asaph the son of Barachias, the son of Samaa.

3 This is the perpetual fire which shall never go out on the altar.


And they went forthwith and took them as they lay, vested with linen tunicks, and cast them forth, as had been commanded them.


And you shall know that I sent you this commandment, that my covenant might be with Levi, saith the Lord of hosts.
