The Lord is the God to whom revenge belongeth: the God of revenge hath acted freely.

THEN Jesus was led by the spirit into the desert, to be tempted by the devil.


And the tempter coming said to him: If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.


7 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and they beat upon that house, and it fell, and great was the fall thereof.


8 For the earth of itself bringeth forth fruit, first the blade, then the ear, afterwards the full corn in the ear.


1 Who answering, said to them: My mother and my brethren are they who hear the word of God, and do it.


As the Father hath loved me, I also have loved you. Abide in my love.


4 If I had not done among them the works that no other man hath done, they would not have sin; but now they have both seen and hated both me and my Father.


1 These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and your joy may be filled.


4 You are my friends, if you do the things that I command you.


6 You have not chosen me: but I have chosen you; and have appointed you, that you should go, and should bring forth fruit; and your fruit should remain: that whatsoever you shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.


0 And not for them only do I pray, but for them also who through their word shall believe in me;


5 For I would not have you ignorant, brethren, of this mystery, (lest you should be wise in your own conceits), that blindness in part has happened in Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles should come in.


0 For as you also in times past did not believe God, but now have obtained mercy, through their unbelief;


6 (As it is written: For thy sake we are put to death all the day long. We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.)


0 But when that which is perfect is come, that which is in part shall be done away.


It is a faithful saying: and these things I will have thee affirm constantly: that they, who believe in God, may be careful to excel in good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.


4 And to Jesus the mediator of the new testament, and to the sprinkling of blood which speaketh better than that of Abel.


8 And now, little children, abide in him, that when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be confounded by him at his coming.


And in the sight of the throne was, as it were, a sea of glass like to crystal; and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four living creatures, full of eyes before and behind.
