3 While he spoke these things, Jeroboam caused an ambushment to come about behind him. And while he stood facing the enemies, he encompassed Juda. who perceived it not, with his army.


Moreover the children of Israel and Juda, that dwelt in the cities of Juda, brought in the tithes of oxen, and sheep, and the tithes of holy things, which they had vowed to the Lord their God: and carrying them all, made many heaps.


2 Behold the sound of a noise cometh, a great commotion out of the land of the north: to make the cities of Juda a desert, and a dwelling for dragons.


1 And judgment is come upon the plain country: upon Helon, and upon Jasa, and upon Mephaath.


0 And Chaldea shall be made a prey: all that waste her shall be filled, saith the Lord.


0 According to my desire I will chastise them: and the nations shall be gathered together against them, when they shall be chastised for their two iniquities.


0 Where is thy king? now especially let him save thee in all thy cities: and thy judges, of whom thou saidst: Q Give me kings and princes.


Hear this, ye old men, and give ear, all ye inhabitants of the land: did this ever happen in your days, or in the days of your fathers?


5 Yet will I bring an heir to thee that dwellest in Maresa: even to Odollam shall the glory of Israel come.


He stood and measured the earth. He beheld, and melted the nations: and the ancient mountains were crushed to pieces. The hills of the world were bowed down by the journeys of his eternity.


And because he was of the same trade, he remained with them, and wrought; (now they were tentmakers by trade.)


4 But as soon as they perceived him to be a Jew, all with one voice, for the space of about two hours, cried out: Great is Diana of the Ephesians.
