4 And the king said to Joseph: I am Pharao; without thy commandment no man shall move hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.


And he knew them, he spoke as it were to strangers somewhat roughly, asking them: Whence came you? They answered: From the land of Chanaan, to buy necessaries of life.


5 And he said to them: Why would you do so? know you not that there is no one like me in the science of divining.


And he said mildly to them: Come nearer to me. And when they were come near him, he said: I am Joseph, your brother, whom you sold into Egypt.


9 And he answered them: Fear not: can we resist the will of God?


1 Fear not: I will feed you and your children. And he comforted them, and spoke gently and mildly.
