Now Israel loved Joseph above all his sons, because he had him in his old age: and he made him a coat of divers colours.


6 And let it be in readiness, against the famine of seven years to come, which shall oppress Egypt, and the land shall not consumed with scarcity.


7 And the fruitfulness of the seven years came: and the corm being bound up into sheaves was gathered together into the barns of Egypt.


4 The seven years of scarcity, which Joseph had foretold, began to come: and the famine prevailed in the whole world, but there was bread in all the land of Egypt.


5 And when there also they began to be famished, the people cried to Pharao for food. And he said to them: Go to Joseph: and do all that he shall say to you.


7 And all provinces came into Egypt, to buy food, and to seek some relief of their want.


9 Why therefore shall we die before thy eyes? we will be thins, both we and our lands: buy us to be the king's servants, and give us seed, lest for want of tillers the land be turned into a wilderness.


4 That you may have corn. The fifth part you shall give to the king: the other four you shall have for seed, and for food for your families and children.


4 For when I shall have taken away the nations from thy face, and shall have enlarged thy borders, no man shall lie in wait against thy land when thou shalt go up, and appear in the sight of the Lord thy God thrice in a year.


2 And the passage of the rod shall be strongly grounded, which the Lord shall make to rest upon him with timbrels and harps, and in great battles he shall over throw them.


And thou shalt be free from the innocent's blood, that was shed, when thou shalt have done what the Lord hath commanded thee.


7 Your flocks also he will tithe, and you shall be his servants.
