That thou mayest know the verity of those words in which thou hast been instructed.


And other some fell upon good ground; and being sprung up, yielded fruit a hundredfold. Saying these things, he cried out: He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.


For his disciples were gone into the city to buy meats.


8 For thou hast had five husbands: and he whom thou now hast, is not thy husband. This thou hast said truly.


2 There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true.


3 Jesus therefore answered, and said to them: Murmur not among yourselves.


5 It is written in the prophets: And they shall all be taught of God. Every one that hath heard of the Father, and hath learned, cometh to me.


2 The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying: How can this man give us his flesh to eat?


Now the Jews' feast of tabernacles was at hand.


7 For so the Lord hath commanded us: I have set thee to be the light of the Gentiles; that thou mayest be for salvation unto the utmost part of the earth.


And when there had been much disputing, Peter, rising up, said to them: Men, brethren, you know, that in former days God made choice among us, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.


9 For which cause I judge that they, who from among the Gentiles are converted to God, are not to be disquieted.


2 And the people ran together against them; and the magistrates rending off their clothes, commanded them to be beaten with rods.


9 And coming, they besought them; and bringing them out, they desired them to depart out of the city.


I SAY then: Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.


But what saith the divine answer to him? I have left me seven thousand men, that have not bowed their knees to Baal.


4 But also for us, to whom it shall be reputed, if we believe in him, that raised up Jesus Christ, our Lord, from the dead,


3 For not through the law was the promise to Abraham, or to his seed, that he should be heir of the world; but through the justice of faith.


4 Even us, whom also he hath called, nor only of the Jews, but also of the Gentiles.


3 But before the faith came, we were kept under the law shut up, unto that faith which was to be revealed.


But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed by the father:


Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together in Christ, (by whose grace you are saved,)


9 Now therefore you are no more strangers and foreigners; but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and the domestics of God,


4 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and breaking down the middle wall of partition, the enmities in his flesh:


He humbled himself, becoming obedient unto death, even to the death of the cross.


1 Touch not, taste not, handle not:


And now you know what withholdeth, that he may be revealed in his time.


3 For God making promise to Abraham, because he had no one greater by whom he might swear, swore by himself,


4 As children of obedience, not fashioned according to the former desires of your ignorance:
