And Sara said: God hath made a laughter for me: whosoever shall hear of it will laugh with me.


1 And David said to Michol: Before the Lord, who chose me rather than thy father, and than all his house, and commanded me to be ruler over the people of the Lord in Israel,


Thou hast hated them that regard vanities, to no purpose. But I have hoped in the Lord:


2 To the end that my glory may sing to thee, and I may not regret: O Lord my God, I will give praise to thee for ever.


3 And they came into Mara, and they could not drink the waters of Mara, because they were bitter: whereupon he gave a name also agreeable to the place, calling it Mara, that is, bitterness.


2 And I have known that there was no better thing than to rejoice, and to do well in this life.


1 But do not apply thy heart to all words that are spoken: lest perhaps thou hear thy servant reviling thee.


Get thee up upon a high mountain, thou that bringest good tidings to Sion: lift up thy voice with strength, thou that bringest good tidings to Jerusalem: lift it up, fear not. Say to the cities of Juda: Behold your God:


0 Behold the Lord God shall come with strength, and his arm shall rule: Behold his reward is with him and his work is before him.


5 At that time Jesus answered and said: I confess to thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them to the little ones.


3 And when Jesus was come into the house of the ruler, and saw the minstrels and the multitude making a rout,


6 And all they that had heard them laid them up in their heart, saying: What an one, think ye, shall this child be? For the hand of the Lord was with him.


For princes are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? Do that which is good: and thou shalt have praise from the same.


For according to their power ( I bear them witness), and beyond their power, they were willing.


Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl in your miseries, which shall come upon you.
