4 And poverty shall come to thee as a runner, and beggary as an armed man.


Laughter I counted error: and to mirth I said: Why art thou vainly deceived?


4 Is it not better to eat and drink, and to shew his soul good things of his labours? and this is from the hand of God.


0 And whatsoever my eyes desired, I refused them not: and I withheld not my heart from enjoying every pleasure, and delighting itself in the things which I had prepared: and esteemed this my portion, to make use of my own labour.


And I praised the dead rather than the living:


1 But do not apply thy heart to all words that are spoken: lest perhaps thou hear thy servant reviling thee.


5 The Lord of hosts the God of Israel hath said: Behold I will visit upon the tumult of Alexandria, and upon Pharao, and upon Egypt, and upon her gods, and upon her kings, and upon Pharao, upon them that trust in him.


1 Why do you not understand that it was not concerning the bread I said to you: Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees?
