6 Commanding them: When you shall do the office of midwives to the Hebrew women, and the time of delivery is come: if it be a man child, kill it: if a woman, keep it alive.


8 And the king called for them and said: What is that you meant to do, that you would save the men children ?


And she conceived, and bore a son; and seeing him a goodly child hid him three months.


0 Come, let us wisely oppress them, lest they multiply: and if any war shall rise against us, join with our enemies, and having overcome us, depart out of the land.


1 And they said to them: The Lord see and judge, because you have made our savour to stink before Pharao and his servants, and you have given him a sword to kill us.


And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: I am the Lord,


1 Go, and gather it where you can find it: neither shall any thing of your work be diminished.


0 But he answered: Thou shalt not pass. And immediately he came forth to meet them with an infinite multitude, and a strong hand,


2 When thou hast made an end of tithing all thy fruits, in the third year of tithes thou shalt give it to the Levite, and to the stranger, and to the fatherless, and to the widow, that they may eat within thy gates, and be filled:


5 If you shall beget sons and grandsons, and abide in the land, and being deceived, make to yourselves any similitude, committing evil before the Lord your God, to provoke him to wrath:
