Yet a little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look well at his place, he will not be there.


Again I passed by, and lo, he was no more; though I sought him, he could not be found.

And I will make this city a horror, a thing to be hissed at; every one who passes by it will be horrified and will hiss because of all its disasters.

I will bring you to a dreadful end, and you shall be no more; though you be sought for, you will never be found again, says the Lord God.”


The word of the Lord came to me:


All who know you among the peoples are appalled at you; you have come to a dreadful end and shall be no more for ever.”


This is the exultant city that dwelt secure, that said to herself, “I am and there is none else.” What a desolation she has become, a lair for wild beasts! Every one who passes by her hisses and shakes his fist.
