Then Absalom sent for Joab, to send him to the king; but Joab would not come to him. And he sent a second time, but Joab would not come.


Then Joab arose and went to Absalom at his house, and said to him, “Why have your servants set my field on fire?”


Joab said, “I will not waste time like this with you.” And he took three darts in his hand, and thrust them into the heart of Absalom, while he was still alive in the oak.


He said, “Throw her down.” So they threw her down; and some of her blood spattered on the wall and on the horses, and they trampled on her.


And Samson said to them, “This time I shall be blameless in regard to the Philistines, when I do them mischief.”
