And Haman recounted to them the splendor of his riches, the number of his sons, all the promotions with which the king had honored him, and how he had advanced him above the princes and the servants of the king.


A rich man's wealth is his strong city, and like a high wall protecting him.


Speak, “Thus says the Lord: ‘The dead bodies of men shall fall like dung upon the open field, like sheaves after the reaper, and none shall gather them.’ ”


I am the Lord your God from the land of Egypt; I will again make you dwell in tents, as in the days of the appointed feast.


For what will it profit a man, if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life? Or what shall a man give in return for his life?


even as the Son of man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”


But the wise replied, ‘Perhaps there will not be enough for us and for you; go rather to the dealers and buy for yourselves.’


For what can a man give in return for his life?


who gave himself as a ransom for all, the testimony to which was borne at the proper time.


You know that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your fathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold,
