“They listened to me and waited and kept silence for my counsel.


They waited for me as for the rain; they opened their mouths as for the spring rain.


Therefore I say, ‘Listen to me; let me also declare my opinion.’


I gave you my attention, but there was, in fact, no one who confuted Job, no one among you who answered his words.


Now Elihu had waited to speak to Job because they were older than he.


See, we have searched this out; it is true. Hear, and know it for yourself.”


The one who first states a case seems right, until the other comes and cross-examines.


The rich is wise in self-esteem, but an intelligent poor person sees through the pose.
