When they came to the threshing floor of Atad, which is beyond the Jordan, they held there a very great and sorrowful lamentation, and he observed a time of mourning for his father seven days.


Ornan turned and saw the king, and while his four sons who were with him hid themselves, Ornan continued to thresh wheat.


David said to Ornan, “Give me the site of the threshing floor that I may build on it an altar to the Lord—give it to me at its full price—so that the plague may be averted from the people.”


When the flame went up toward heaven from the altar, the angel of the Lord ascended in the flame of the altar while Manoah and his wife looked on, and they fell on their faces to the ground.


When Abigail saw David, she hurried and dismounted from the donkey and fell before David on her face, bowing to the ground.
