And also by the hand of the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani came the Word of Jehovah against Baasha, and against his house, even for all the evil that he did in the sight of Jehovah, in provoking Him to anger with the work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam, and because he killed him.


And they set up images and Asherahs for themselves in every high hill, and under every green tree.


And they left all the commandments of Jehovah their God, and made molten images, two calves, for themselves. And they made an Asherah and worshiped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.


And he did the right in the sight of Jehovah, according to all that his father Uzziah did. Only, he did not enter into the temple of Jehovah. And the people still did evilly.


And he shall not look to the altars, the work of his hands, nor respect that which his fingers have made, either the Asherahs or the images.


O Jehovah our God, lords besides You have had the rule over us; but by You only will we make mention of Your name.


and have cast their gods into the fire, for they were no gods, but the work of men's hands, wood and stone; so they have destroyed them.


The workman melts a graven image, and the goldsmith spreads it over with gold, and casts silver chains.


Behold, they are all evil; their works are nothing; their images are wind and vanity.

And now they sin more and more, and have made themselves a molten image of their silver, and idols according to their own understanding, all of it the work of the craftsmen. They say of them, Let the men who sacrifice kiss the calves.


Assyria shall not save us; we will not ride on horses. Nor shall we say any more to the work of our hands, Our gods, for in You the fatherless finds mercy.


For from Israel it came also. The craftsman made it, but it is not God. For the calf of Samaria shall be splinters.


And I will cut off sorceries out of your hand, and there shall not be fortune-tellers among you.


But awaiting them in Athens, Paul's spirit was pained within him, seeing the city full of idols.


And there you shall serve gods, the work of men's hands, wood and stone, which neither see nor hear nor eat nor smell.


And the rest of the men who were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and golden, and silver, and bronze, and stone, and wooden idols (which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk).
