For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.


I am a companion of all them that fear thee, and of them that keep thy precepts.


And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, inquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence.


Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?


And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about a hundred and twenty,)


And it came to pass, that, while Apol´los was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus; and finding certain disciples,


And we sailed away from Phil´ippi after the days of unleavened bread, and came unto them to Tro´as in five days; where we abode seven days.


And finding disciples, we tarried there seven days: who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem.


And from thence we fetched a compass, and came to Rhe´gi-um: and after one day the south wind blew, and we came the next day to Pute´oli:


And from thence, when the brethren heard of us, they came to meet us as far as Ap´pi-i Forum, and the Three Taverns; whom when Paul saw, he thanked God, and took courage.


And they said unto him, We neither received letters out of Judea concerning thee, neither any of the brethren that came showed or spake any harm of thee.


Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.


Which when the brethren knew, they brought him down to Caesare´a, and sent him forth to Tarsus.


Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles.
