And Jeho´ash king of Judah took all the hallowed things that Jehosh´aphat, and Jeho´ram, and Ahazi´ah, his fathers, kings of Judah, had dedicated, and his own hallowed things, and all the gold that was found in the treasures of the house of the Lord, and in the king's house, and sent it to Haz´a-el king of Syria: and he went away from Jerusalem.
And the king of Assyria sent Tartan and Rab–sa´ris and Rab–sha´keh from Lachish to king Hezeki´ah with a great host against Jerusalem: and they went up and came to Jerusalem. And when they were come up, they came and stood by the conduit of the upper pool, which is in the highway of the fuller's field.
And Hezeki´ah was glad of them, and showed them the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armor, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezeki´ah showed them not.
