2 Chronicles 22:11 - King James Version with Apocrypha - American Edition

11 But Jehosh´abeath, the daughter of the king, took Jo´ash the son of Ahazi´ah, and stole him from among the king's sons that were slain, and put him and his nurse in a bedchamber. So Jehosh´abeath, the daughter of king Jeho´ram, the wife of Jehoi´ada the priest, (for she was the sister of Ahazi´ah,) hid him from Athali´ah, so that she slew him not.

Nevertheless for David's sake did the Lord his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem:


But Jehosh´eba, the daughter of king Joram, sister of Ahazi´ah, took Jo´ash the son of Ahazi´ah, and stole him from among the king's sons which were slain; and they hid him, even him and his nurse, in the bedchamber from Athali´ah, so that he was not slain.


Howbeit the Lord would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a light to him and to his sons for ever.


But when Athali´ah the mother of Ahazi´ah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seed royal of the house of Judah.


And he was with them hid in the house of God six years: and Athali´ah reigned over the land.


And in the seventh year Jehoi´ada strengthened himself, and took the captains of hundreds, Azari´ah the son of Jero´ham, and Ish´ma-el the son of Jeho´hanan, and Azari´ah the son of Obed, and Ma-asei´ah the son of Adai´ah, and Elish´aphat the son of Zichri, into covenant with him.


The Lord bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect.


Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain.


and the river shall bring forth frogs abundantly, which shall go up and come into thine house, and into thy bedchamber, and upon thy bed, and into the house of thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thine ovens, and into thy kneadingtroughs:


There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the Lord.


Thus saith the Lord, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one saith, Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it: so will I do for my servants' sake, that I may not destroy them all.


for to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.
