also for the courses of the priests and the Levites, and for all the work of the service of the house of the Lord, and for all the vessels of service in the house of the Lord.


And, behold, the courses of the priests and the Levites, even they shall be with thee for all the service of the house of God: and there shall be with thee for all manner of workmanship every willing skilful man, for any manner of service: also the princes and all the people will be wholly at thy commandment.


Now the acts of David the king, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of Samuel the seer, and in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the book of Gad the seer,


and Obadi´ah the son of Shemai´ah, the son of Galal, the son of Jedu´thun, and Berechi´ah the son of Asa, the son of Elka´nah, that dwelt in the villages of the Netoph´athites.


So they and their children had the oversight of the gates of the house of the Lord, namely, the house of the tabernacle, by wards.


And Mattithi´ah, one of the Levites, who was the firstborn of Shallum the Ko´rahite, had the set office over the things that were made in the pans.


And he set the porters at the gates of the house of the Lord, that none which was unclean in any thing should enter in.


And next him were Eden, and Mini-a´min, and Jesh´u-a, and Shemai´ah, Amari´ah, and Shecani´ah, in the cities of the priests, in their set office, to give to their brethren by courses, as well to the great as to the small:


and to the genealogy of all their little ones, their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, through all the congregation: for in their set office they sanctified themselves in holiness:


And of the Levites were divisions in Judah, and in Benjamin.


And at that time were some appointed over the chambers for the treasures, for the offerings, for the firstfruits, and for the tithes, to gather into them out of the fields of the cities the portions of the law for the priests and Levites: for Judah rejoiced for the priests and for the Levites that waited.


(Beforetime in Israel, when a man went to inquire of God, thus he spake, Come, and let us go to the seer: for he that is now called a Prophet was beforetime called a Seer.)
