I will put enmities between thee and the woman, and thy seed and her seed: she shall crush thy head, and thou shalt lie in wait for her heel.


and they that dwell in the uttermost borders shall be afraid at thy signs: thou shalt make the outgoings of the morning and of the evening to be joyful.


Who hath wrought and done these things, calling the generations from the beginning? I, the Lord. I am the first and the last.


That make void the tokens of diviners and make the soothsayers mad: that turn the wise backward, and that: make their knowledge foolish:


For the king of Babylon stood in the highway, at the head of two ways, seeking divination, shuffling arrows: he inquired of the idols and consulted entrails.


According to the days of thy coming out of the land of Egypt I will shew him wonders.


And when Balaam saw that it pleased the Lord that he should bless Israel, he went not as he had gone before, to seek divination: but setting his face towards the desert,


And Jesus knowing their thoughts, said to them: Every kingdom divided against itself shall be made desolate: and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand.


And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges.


And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.


The chief priests therefore, and the Pharisees, gathered a council, and said: What do we, for this man doth many miracles?


Jesus of Nazareth: how God anointed him with the Holy Ghost, and with power, who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.


And all the multitude held their peace; and they heard Barnabas and Paul telling what great signs and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them.


Saying: What shall we do to these men? for indeed a known miracle hath been done by them, to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem: it is manifest, and we cannot deny it.


And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people. And they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch.


And the multitude of men and women who believed in the Lord, was more increased:


And the God of peace crush Satan under your feet speedily. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.


Lord God, thou hast begun to shew unto thy servant thy greatness, and most mighty hand: for there is no other God either in heaven or earth, that is able to do thy works, or to be compared to thy strength.


Balaam also the son of Beor, the soothsayer, the children of Israel slew with the sword among the rest that were slain.


And that great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, who seduceth the whole world; and he was cast unto the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.
