Neither is my house so great with God, that he should make with me an eternal covenant, firm in all things and assured. For he is all my salvation, and all my will: neither is there ought thereof that springeth not up.

Therefore thus saith the Lord the God of Israel: Behold, I will bring on evils upon Jerusalem and Juda; that whosoever shall hear of them, both his ears shall tingle.

Because they have done evil before me, and have continued to provoke me, from the day that their fathers came out of Egypt, even unto this day.

So Manasses seduced Juda, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to do evil beyond all the nations which the Lord had destroyed before the face of the children of Israel.

And he saved them from the hand of them that hated them: and he redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.

In God I will praise my words, in God I have put my trust: I will not fear what flesh can do against me.

I will send him to a deceitful nation: and I will give him a charge against the people of my wrath, to take away the spoils, and to lay hold on the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.

For it is a people that provoketh to wrath, and lying children, children that will not hear the law of God.

THUS saith the Lord: What is this bill of the divorce of your mother, with which I have put her away? Or who is my creditor, to whom I sold you? Behold, you are sold for your iniquities: and for your wicked deeds have I put your mother away.

Therefore the Lord shell have no joy in their young men: neither shall he have mercy on their fatherless, and widows. For every one is a hypocrite and wicked, and every mouth hath spoken folly. For all this his indignation is not turned away: but his hand is stretched out still.

They are returned to the former iniquities of their fathers who refused to hear my words: so these likewise have gone after strange gods, to serve them. The house of Israel and the house of Juda have made void my covenant which I made with their fathers.

They shall ask the way to Sion: their faces are hitherward. They shall come and shall be joined to the Lord by an everlasting covenant which shall never be forgotten.

For thus saith the Lord God: I will deal with thee as thou hast despised the oath, in breaking the covenant:

But the house of Israel provoked me in the desert: they walked not in my statutes and they cast away my judgments, which if a man do he shall live in them, and they grievously violated my sabbaths. I said therefore that I would pour out my indignation upon them in the desert and would consume them.

Because they had not done my judgments and had cast off my statutes and had violated my sabbaths, and their eyes had been after the idols of their fathers.

And I will make a covenant of peace with them, it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will establish them, and will multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for ever.

But they, like Adam, have transgressed the covenant, there have they dealt treacherously against me.

Keep my laws and my judgments, and do them: lest the land into which you are to enter to dwell therein vomit you also out.

And he said: I will hide my face from them, and will consider what their last end shall be. For it is a perverse generation, and unfaithful children.

And may the God of peace, who brought again from the dead the great pastor of the sheep, our Lord Jesus Christ, in the blood of the everlasting testament,

The former indeed had also justifications of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.

When you shall have transgressed the covenant of the Lord your God, which he hath made with you, and shall have served strange gods, and adored them. Then shall the indignation of the Lord rise up quickly and speedily against you: and you shall be taken away from this excellent land, which he hath delivered to you.
