And in the time of his distress did he trespass yet more against Jehovah, this same king Ahaz.


And he humbled not himself before Jehovah, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself; but this same Amon trespassed more and more.


And he also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart against turning unto Jehovah, the God of Israel.


And Jehovah said unto Moses, When thou goest back into Egypt, see that thou do before Pharaoh all the wonders which I have put in thy hand: but I will harden his heart and he will not let the people go.


And Jehovah said unto Moses, Pharaoh’s heart is stubborn, he refuseth to let the people go.


But when Pharaoh saw that there was respite, he hardened his heart, and hearkened not unto them, as Jehovah had spoken.


And Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh, and spread abroad his hands unto Jehovah: and the thunders and hail ceased, and the rain was not poured upon the earth.


And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he did not let the children of Israel go, as Jehovah had spoken by Moses.


Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.


Wherefore then do ye harden your hearts, as the Egyptians and Pharaoh hardened their hearts? When he had wrought wonderfully among them, did they not let the people go, and they departed?
