And remember His covenant for their sake, And relent according to the greatness of His loving-commitment.


For יהוה rightly rules His people, And has compassion on His servants.


For in death there is no remembrance of You; Who gives You thanks in She’ol?


O Elohim, how long would the adversary reproach? Would the enemy despise Your Name forever?


Return, we beg You, O Elohim of hosts; Look down from heaven, and see, And visit this vine,


And the stock which Your right hand has planted, And the Son whom You made strong for Yourself.


How long, O יהוה, would You be hidden? Would Your wrath burn like fire forever?


“Why should the Mitsrites speak, and say, ‘For evil He brought them out to kill them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth’? Turn from the heat of Your wrath, and relent from this evil to Your people.


And יהוה relented from the evil which He said He would do to His people.


O יהוה, why do You make us stray from Your ways, and harden our heart from Your fear? Turn back, for the sake of Your servants, the tribes of Your inheritance.


“And it shall be, after My plucking them out, I shall return, and have compassion on them and bring them back, everyone to his inheritance and everyone to his land.


“How could I give you up, Ephrayim? How could I hand you over, Yisra’ĕl? How could I make you like Aḏmah? How could I set you like Tseḇoyim? My heart turns within Me, all My compassion is kindled.


יהוה relented concerning this. “It shall not be,” said יהוה.

“Who knows whether Elohim does turn and relent, and shall turn away from the heat of His displeasure, so that we do not perish?”


Therefore thus said יהוה, “I shall return to Yerushalayim with compassion. My house shall be built in it,” declares יהוה of hosts, “and a surveyor’s line be stretched out over Yerushalayim.” ’


And when it rested, he said, “Return, O יהוה, to the countless thousands of Yisra’ĕl.”
