26 For they persecute him whom You have stricken, And talk about the pain of those You have wounded.

But a prophet of יהוה was there, whose name was Oḏĕḏ. And he went out before the army that came to Shomeron, and said to them, “See, because יהוה Elohim of your fathers was displeased with Yehuḏah, He has given them into your hand, and you have killed them in a rage that reaches up to the heavens.


They have broken up my path, they gain by my ruin; no one restrains them.


Because he did not remember to show loving-commitment, But persecuted the poor and needy man; And the broken-hearted, to put to death.


But יהוה was pleased to crush Him, He laid sickness on Him, that when He made Himself an offering for guilt, He would see a seed, He would prolong His days and the pleasure of יהוה prosper in His hand.


Truly, He has borne our sicknesses and carried our pains. Yet we reckoned Him smitten, stricken by Elohim, and afflicted.
