For my sighing comes before I eat, and my groanings pour out like water.


My bones have been pierced in me at night, and my gnawings never lie down.


My skin became black upon me, and my bones burned with heat.

There is no soundness in my flesh because of Your rage, Nor peace in my bones because of my sin.

He has worn out my flesh and my skin, He has broken my bones.


Also, when I cry and shout, He shuts out my prayer.


and did not cry out to Me with their heart when they wailed upon their beds. For grain and new wine they assemble themselves; they turn away from Me.


And they took their bones and buried them under the tamarisk tree at Yaḇĕsh, and fasted for seven days.
