14 From men by Your hand, O יהוה, From men of the world whose portion is in this life, And You fill their bellies with Your treasure, They are satisfied with children, And shall leave their riches to their babes.

Who among all these does not know that the hand of יהוה has done this,


For what is his delight in his house after him, when the number of his new moons is cut off?


Yet He filled their houses with the good! (But the counsel of the wrong has been far from me).


As but a shadow each one walks; They busy themselves, only in vain; He heaps up wealth, But knows not who gathers them.


See, these are the wrong, And always at ease, They have amassed wealth!


If you seek her as silver, And search for her as hidden treasures,

And He said to them, “You are from below, I am from above. You are of this world, I am not of this world.


You have lived on the earth in pleasure and luxury, you have fattened your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.
