Do not hide Your face from me In the day of my distress; Incline Your ear to me; In the day I call, answer me speedily.


And they cried out to יהוה in their distress, And He saved them out of their troubles.


I called on Yah in distress; Yah answered me in a broad place.


I lift up my eyes to the hills; Where does my help come from?


I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go into the House of יהוה.”


I shall lift up my eyes Unto You who dwell in the heavens.


If it had not been יהוה who was on our side, Let Yisra’ĕl now say;


Those who trust in יהוה Are like Mount Tsiyon – It is not shaken, it remains forever.


When יהוה turns back the captivity of Tsiyon, We shall be like dreamers.


If יהוה does not build the house, Its builders have laboured in vain. If יהוה does not guard the city, The watchman has stayed awake in vain.


Blessed are all who fear יהוה, Who walk in His ways.


Often they have distressed me from my youth. Let Yisra’ĕl now say,


Out of the depths I have cried to You, O יהוה.


O יהוה, my heart has not been proud, Nor have my eyes been haughty. Neither have I concerned myself with great matters, Nor with those too wondrous for me.


O יהוה, remember Dawiḏ, All his afflictions;


See how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity –


Come, bless יהוה, All you servants of יהוה, Who are standing in the House of יהוה by night!


In my distress I called upon יהוה, And to my Elohim I cried; He heard my voice from His Hĕḵal, And my cry went before Him, into His ears.


And call upon Me in the day of distress – Let Me rescue you, and you esteem Me.


Whoever slaughters praise esteems Me; And to him who prepares a way, I show the deliverance of Elohim.


And he said, “I called to יהוה because of my distress, and He answered me. From the stomach of She’ol I cried, and You heard my voice.


“For You threw me into the deep, into the heart of the seas, and the floods surrounded me. All Your breakers and Your waves passed over me.


And being in agony, He was praying more earnestly. And His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.


who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and petitions with strong crying and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His reverent fear,


And it came to be at the turn of days, that Ḥannah conceived and bore a son, and called his name Shemu’ĕl, “Because I have asked יהוה for him.”


“I prayed for this youth, and יהוה has granted me what I asked of Him.
