Have all the workers of wickedness no knowledge, Who eat up my people as they eat bread, And do not call on יהוה?


From the fruit of the mouth a man eats the good, But the desire of the treacherous is for violence.


Bread gained by deceit might be sweet to a man, But afterward his mouth is filled with gravel.

Both hands are on the evil, to do it well. The prince asks for gifts, the judge seeks a bribe, and the great man speaks the desire of his being. And they weave it together.


Her rulers in her midst are roaring lions, her judges are evening wolves, they shall leave no bone until morning.


“But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you shut up the reign of the heavens before men, for you do not go in, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.
