And they took Lot, Aḇram’s brother’s son who dwelt in Seḏom, and his goods, and left.


And the young men who had grown up with him spoke to him, saying, “Say this to this people who have spoken to you, saying, ‘Your father made our yoke heavy, but you make it lighter on us.’ Say this to them, ‘My little finger is thicker than my father’s waist!


But he ignored the advice the elders gave him, and consulted the young men who had grown up with him, who stood before him.


And it came to be, when the commanders of the chariots saw Yehoshaphat, that they said, “Indeed, it is the sovereign of Yisra’ĕl!” So they turned aside to fight against him, and Yehoshaphat cried out.


And he said to Yehoshaphat, “Do you go with me to battle at Ramoth Gil‛aḏ?” And Yehoshaphat said to the sovereign of Yisra’ĕl, “I am as you are, my people as your people, my horses as your horses.”

And Yĕhu son of Ḥanani the seer went out to face him, and said to Sovereign Yehoshaphat, “Do you help the wrong and love those who hate יהוה? Therefore the wrath of יהוה is upon you.


And he did evil in the eyes of יהוה, like the house of Aḥaḇ, for they were his counsellors after the death of his father, to his destruction.


I am a companion of all who fear You, And of those guarding Your orders.


A desire accomplished is sweet to the being, But to turn away from evil is an abomination to fools.


Leave the presence of a foolish man, For you shall not perceive the lips of knowledge.


An ear that hears the reproof of life Does dwell among the wise.


Make no friendship with one given to wrath, And do not go with a man of rage,


Lest you learn his ways, And find yourself ensnared.


Her house is the way to She’ol, Going down to the rooms of death.


Leave the simple ones and live, And walk in the way of understanding.


Then shall those who fear יהוה speak to one another, and יהוה listens and hears, and a book of remembrance be written before Him, of those who fear יהוה, and those who think upon His Name.


And they were continuing steadfastly in the teaching of the emissaries, and in the fellowship, and in the breaking of bread, and in the prayers.


And let us be concerned for one another in order to stir up love and good works,


And I heard another voice from the heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.
