And the Giḇ‛onites said to him, “It is no matter of silver or gold between us and Sha’ul, or his house, neither is it for us to put to death any man in Yisra’ĕl.” And he said, “Whatever you say I do for you.”


Deliver me from blood-guilt, O Elohim, Elohim of my deliverance, Let my tongue sing aloud of Your righteousness.


“But when a man acts presumptuously against his neighbour, to kill him by treachery, you are to take him even from My slaughter-place to die.


“And I shall judge you with judgments of adulteresses and shedders of blood. And I shall bring on you the blood of wrath and jealousy.


‘And a man who strikes the being of any man shall certainly be put to death.


And if he has stricken him with a stone in the hand, by which one could die, and he does die, he is a murderer. The murderer shall certainly be put to death.


Whoever strikes a being, the murderer shall be executed by the mouth of witnesses, but one witness does not bear witness against someone to die.


And take no ransom for him who has fled to his city of refuge to return to dwell in the land before the death of the priest.


Cursed is he who strikes his neighbour secretly.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amĕn!’
