Nehemiah 5:15 - The Scriptures 2009

15 But the former governors who were before me laid burdens on the people, and took from them bread and wine, besides forty sheqels of silver. Their servants also oppressed the people, but I did not do so, because of the fear of Elohim.

And I also worked strongly in the work on this wall. We did not buy any land. And all my servants were gathered there for the work.


I also said, “What you are doing is not good. Should you not walk in the fear of our Elohim because of the reproach of the nations, our enemies?


For I am in dread of destruction from Ěl, and from His excellence I could not escape.


Aleph Praise Yah! Blessed is the man, Who fears יהוה, Bĕt Who has greatly delighted in His commands.


יהוה takes pleasure in those who fear Him, In those who wait for His loving-commitment.


By loving-commitment and truth crookedness is pardoned. And in the fear of יהוה one turns away from evil.


If a ruler listens to lying words, All his servants become wrong.


Who among you is fearing יהוה, obeying the voice of His Servant, that has walked in darkness and has no light? Let him trust in the Name of יהוה and lean upon his Elohim!


“And I bought the field which was at Anathoth from Ḥaname’ĕl, my uncle’s son, and weighed out to him the silver, seventeen sheqels of silver.


Servants have ruled over us; There is no one to deliver from their hand.


And if you greet your brothers only, what do you do more than others? Are the tax collectors not doing so too?


And when I was present with you, and in need, I was not a burden to anyone, for what was lacking to me the brothers who came from Makedonia supplied. And in every way I kept myself – and shall keep – from being a burden to you.


For what is there in which you were inferior to other assemblies, except that I myself was not a burden to you? Forgive me this wrong!
