18 “I do not speak concerning all of you. I know whom I have chosen, but that the Scripture might be filled, ‘He who eats bread with Me has lifted up his heel against Me.’

And He answering, said, “He who has dipped his hand with Me in the dish, he shall deliver Me up.


And evening having come, He came with the twelve.


And as they sat and ate, יהושע said, “Truly, I say to you, one of you who is eating with Me shall deliver Me up.”


And He answering, said to them, “It is one of the twelve, he who is dipping with Me in the dish.


“But see, the hand of him delivering Me up is with Me on the table.


When יהושע had said this He was troubled in spirit, and witnessed and said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, one of you shall deliver Me up.”


The taught ones looked at one another, doubting of whom He spoke.


יהושע answered, “It is he to whom I shall give a piece of bread when I have dipped it.” And having dipped the bread, He gave it to Yehuḏah from Qerioth, son of Shim‛on.


“You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in My Name He might give you.


“If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, for that reason the world hates you.


but...that the word might be filled which was written in their Torah, ‘They hated Me without a cause.’


“When I was with them in the world, I was guarding them in Your Name which You have given Me, and I watched over them, and not one of them perished except the son of destruction, that the Scripture might be filled.


in order that the word of יהושע might be filled which He spoke, signifying by what death He was about to die.


So they said to each other, “Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it – whose it shall be,” in order that the Scripture might be filled which says, “They divided My garments among them, and for My clothing they cast lots.” The soldiers therefore indeed did this.


For this took place in order for the Scripture to be filled: “Not one of His bones shall be broken.”


He said to him the third time, “Shim‛on, son of Yonah, do you love Me?” Kĕpha was sad because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Master, You know all, You know that I love You.” יהושע said to him, “Feed My sheep.


יהושע answered them, “Have I not chosen you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?”


“Men and brothers, this Scripture had to be filled which the Set-apart Spirit spoke before by the mouth of Dawiḏ concerning Yehuḏah, who became a guide to those who seized יהושע,


until the day when He was taken up, after giving instructions through the Set-apart Spirit to the emissaries whom He had chosen,


For we do not proclaim ourselves, but Messiah יהושע the Master, and ourselves your servants for the sake of יהושע.


And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all are naked and laid bare before the eyes of Him with whom is our account.


“And I shall slay her children with death. And all the assemblies shall know that I am the One searching the kidneys and hearts. And I shall give to each one of you according to your works.
