20 Have I sinned? What have I done to You, O Watcher of men? Why have You set me as Your target, so that I am a burden to You?

If I sin, then You watch me, and let no crookedness of mine go unpunished.

I am clear, without transgression; I am innocent, and I have no crookedness.


For you say, ‘Of what use is it to you? What do I gain more than if I had sinned?’


If you sin, what would you do against Him? If your transgressions are increased, what would you do to Him?


For the arrows of the Almighty are within me, my spirit drinks in their poison, the onslaughts of Eloah are arrayed against me.


For You make them turn their back, When You aim with Your bowstring toward their faces.


Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains; Your right-rulings are a great deep; O יהוה, You save man and beast.


O יהוה Elohim of hosts, How long shall You be wroth Against the prayer of Your people?


He has bent His bow And set me up as a target for the arrow.
