4 For the arrows of the Almighty are within me, my spirit drinks in their poison, the onslaughts of Eloah are arrayed against me.

He has torn in His wrath, and He hates me. He has gnashed at me with His teeth; my adversary sharpens His eyes upon me.


His companies come together, and they cast up their way against me, and encamp all around my tent.


He sucks the poison of cobras; the tongue of the poisonous snake kills him.


Let his eyes see his destruction, and let him drink of the wrath of the Almighty.


Destructions are turned upon me; they pursue my life as the wind, and my welfare has passed like a cloud.


For I am in dread of destruction from Ěl, and from His excellence I could not escape.


Would I lie concerning my right? My wound is incurable – without transgression.’


Have I sinned? What have I done to You, O Watcher of men? Why have You set me as Your target, so that I am a burden to You?


For He crushes me with a storm, and has multiplied my wounds for no cause.


Hasten, answer me, O יהוה; My spirit fails! Do not hide Your face from me, Lest I be like those going down into the pit.


And He sent out His arrows and scattered them, And much lightning, and confused them.


For You make them turn their back, When You aim with Your bowstring toward their faces.


For Your arrows have pierced me, And Your hand comes down on me.


There is no soundness in my flesh because of Your rage, Nor peace in my bones because of my sin.


Your arrows are sharp In the heart of the Sovereign’s enemies – Peoples fall under You.


And He has prepared for Himself instruments of death, He makes His arrows hot for pursuers.


The heart knows its own bitterness, And no stranger shares its joy.


The spirit of a man sustains him in sickness, But who does bear a broken spirit?


As often as it passes through it shall take you, for it shall pass through every morning, and by day and by night. And it shall be only trembling to understand the message.”


He has bent His bow like an enemy. He has set His right hand like an adversary. And He kills all who delighted the eye. In the tent of the daughter of Tsiyon, He has poured out His wrath like fire.


Indeed, He has turned back, He has turned His hand against me all the day.


And at the ninth hour יהושע cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Ěli, Ěli, lamah sheḇaqtani?” which is translated,“My Ěl, My Ěl, why have You forsaken Me?”


Knowing, therefore, the fear of יהוה, we persuade men, but we have been made manifest to Elohim, and I also trust in your consciences to have been manifested.


I make My arrows drunk with blood, And My sword devours flesh, With the blood of the slain and the captives, From the long-haired enemy chiefs.’


And she said to them, “Do not call me Na‛omi, call me Mara, for the Almighty has dealt very bitterly with me.
