Job 2:10 - The Scriptures 2009

10 But he said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Indeed, should we accept only good from Elohim, and not accept evil?” In all this Iyoḇ did not sin with his lips.

And Dawiḏ said, “What have I to do with you, you sons of Tseruyah, that you are to be adversaries to me today? Should any man be put to death in Yisra’ĕl today? For do I not know that I am sovereign over Yisra’ĕl today?”


“For all of my father’s house were but dead men before my master the sovereign. Yet you set your servant among those who eat at your own table. Therefore what right have I still to cry out any more to the sovereign?”


And the heart of Dawiḏ struck him after he had numbered the people. And Dawiḏ said to יהוה, “I have sinned greatly in what I have done. But now, I pray, O יהוה, take away the crookedness of Your servant, for I have done very foolishly.”


“For the eyes of יהוה diligently search throughout all the earth, to show Himself to be strong on behalf of those whose heart is perfect to Him. You have acted foolishly in this, so from now on you shall have battles.”


“Have You not made a hedge around him, and around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land.


And his wife said to him, “Do you still hold fast to your integrity? Curse Elohim and die!”


I have said,”Let me guard my ways Against sinning with my tongue; Let me guard my mouth with a muzzle, While the wrongdoer is before me.”


Turn aside Your stroke from me; I am overcome by the blow of Your hand.”


“I was dumb, I did not open my mouth, Because it was You who did it.


The sin of their mouth is the words of their lips, And they are captured in their pride, And for the cursing and lying they utter.


A foolish woman is loud, Simple, and without knowledge.


Leave the simple ones and live, And walk in the way of understanding.


Be glad in the day of prosperity, but in the evil day take note that Elohim has also appointed the one as well as the other, so that man should not uncover whatever shall be after him.


Who was it that spoke, And it came to be! Has יהוה not commanded it?


But He turned and said to Kĕpha, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling-block to Me, for your thoughts are not those of Elohim, but those of men.”


“And five of them were wise, and five foolish.


Then יהושע said to Kĕpha, “Put your sword into the sheath. Shall I not drink the cup which My Father has given Me?”


rejoicing in the expectancy, enduring under pressure, continuing steadfastly in prayer;


Blessed is the man who does endure trial, for when he has been proved, he shall receive the crown of life which the Master has promised to those who love Him.


For we all stumble in many matters. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the entire body.


And Shemu’ĕl reported to him all the words, and hid none from him. And he said, “It is יהוה. Let Him do what is good in His eyes.”
