20 But the eyes of the wrong are consumed, and they shall not escape, and their expectancy is the breathing out of life!”

For what is the expectancy of the defiled one, when He does cut off, when Eloah takes away his life?


who are waiting for death, but it does not come, and search for it more than treasures;


who rejoice exceedingly, they are glad when they find the burial-site?


If I have withheld the poor from pleasure, or caused the widow’s eyes to fail,


There is no darkness nor shadow of death where the workers of wickedness hide themselves.


That it would please Eloah to crush me, loose His hand and cut me off!


Look to the right hand and see, And no one is concerned for me; No refuge remains to me; No one inquires after my being.


I am worn out from my crying; My throat is dry; My eyes grow dim As I wait for my Elohim.


What the wrong one fears comes upon him, But the desire of the righteous is granted.


The righteous look forward to joy, But the expectancy of the wrong ones perish.


Whoever curses his father or his mother, His lamp is put out in deep darkness.


“And a place of refuge shall perish from the shepherds, and escape from the leaders of the flock.


While we exist, our eyes are consumed, Watching vainly for our help. In our watch-tower we watched for a nation That could not save.


I also do this to you: And I shall appoint sudden alarm over you, wasting disease and inflammation, destroying the eyes, and consuming the life. And you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.


“And a place to flee shall perish from the swift, and the strong not fortify his power, and the mighty not save his life,


“And among those nations you are to find no rest, nor have a resting place for the sole of your foot. But there יהוה shall give you a trembling heart, and failing eyes, and sorrow of being.


how shall we escape if we neglect so great a deliverance, which first began to be spoken by the Master, and was confirmed to us by those that heard,
