James 2:23 - The Scriptures 2009

23 And the Scripture was filled which says, “Aḇraham believed Elohim, and it was reckoned to him for righteousness.” And He called him, “he who loves Elohim.”

“Are You not our Elohim? You have driven out the inhabitants of this land before Your people Yisra’ĕl, and gave it to the seed of Aḇraham who loves You forever.


O that one might plead for a man with Eloah, as a man with his neighbour!


Thus יהוה spoke to Mosheh face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he would return to the camp, but his servant Yehoshua son of Nun, a young man, did not leave the Tent.


“But you, Yisra’ĕl, are My servant, Ya‛aqoḇ, whom I have chosen, the descendants of Aḇraham who loved Me,


Have you not read this Scripture, ‘The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief corner-stone.


And with Him they impaled two robbers, one on His right and the other on His left.


And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture has been filled in your hearing.”


“Men and brothers, this Scripture had to be filled which the Set-apart Spirit spoke before by the mouth of Dawiḏ concerning Yehuḏah, who became a guide to those who seized יהושע,


Elohim has not rejected His people whom He knew beforehand. Or do you not know what the Scripture says of Ěliyahu, how he pleads with Elohim against Yisra’ĕl, saying,


For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “For this same purpose I have raised you up, to show My power in you, and that My Name be declared in all the earth.”


But the Scripture has shut up all mankind under sin, that the promise by belief in יהושע Messiah might be given to those who believe.


Even so Aḇraham “did believe Elohim, and it was reckoned unto him as righteousness.”


All Scripture is breathed out by Elohim and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for setting straight, for instruction in righteousness,


You see, then, that a man is declared right by works, and not by belief alone.


Because it is contained in the Scripture, “See, I lay in Tsiyon a chief corner-stone, chosen, precious, and he who believes on Him shall by no means be put to shame.”
