15 Look down from the heavens, and see from Your set-apart and comely dwelling. Where are Your ardour and Your might, the stirring of Your inward parts and Your compassion toward me? Are they withheld?

And the priests, the Lĕwites, rose and blessed the people, and their voice was heard. And their prayer came up to His set-apart dwelling place, to heaven.


I shall lift up my eyes Unto You who dwell in the heavens.


Zayin Remember, O יהוה, Your compassion and Your loving-commitments, For they are from everlasting.


He looked from His dwelling place On all the inhabitants of the earth –


Father of the fatherless, And Right-ruler of widows, Is Elohim in His set-apart dwelling.


And I said, “This is my grief: That the right hand of the Most High has changed.”


Return, we beg You, O Elohim of hosts; Look down from heaven, and see, And visit this vine,


And the stock which Your right hand has planted, And the Son whom You made strong for Yourself.


יהוה, where are Your former loving-commitments, Which You swore to Dawiḏ in Your trustworthiness?


Therefore my inward parts sound like a lyre for Mo’aḇ, and my inner being for Qir Ḥeres.


O יהוה, Your hand is high, they do not see. They see the ardour of the people and are ashamed; also, let the fire for Your adversaries consume them.


“For out of Yerushalayim comes forth a remnant, and those who escape from Mount Tsiyon – the ardour of יהוה of hosts does this.


יהוה goes forth like a mighty man. He stirs up ardour like a fighter. He cries out, yes, shout aloud. Over His enemies He shows Himself mighty.


“Would a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Though they forget, I never forget you.


For thus declares the high and exalted One who dwells forever, whose Name is set-apart, “I dwell in the high and set-apart place, with him who has a bruised and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of bruised ones.


And He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of deliverance on His head. And He put on garments of vengeance for clothing, and wrapped Himself with ardour as a mantle.


In all their distress He was distressed, and the Messenger of His Presence saved them. In His love and in His compassion He redeemed them, and He lifted them up and carried them all the days of old.


In view of all this, would You restrain Yourself, O יהוה? Would You keep silent and afflict us beyond measure?


Thus said יהוה, “The heavens are My throne, and the earth is My footstool. Where is this house that you build for Me? And where is this place of My rest?


Of the increase of His rule and peace there is no end, upon the throne of Dawiḏ and over His reign, to establish it and sustain it with right-ruling and with righteousness from now on, even forever. The ardour of יהוה of hosts does this.


“Is Ephrayim a precious son to Me, a child of delights? For though I spoke against him, I still remembered him. That is why My affections were deeply moved for him. I have great compassion for him,” declares יהוה.


Until יהוה looks down and sees from the heavens.


“How could I give you up, Ephrayim? How could I hand you over, Yisra’ĕl? How could I make you like Aḏmah? How could I set you like Tseḇoyim? My heart turns within Me, all My compassion is kindled.


And let יהוה be jealous for His land, and spare His people.


through the tender compassion of our Elohim, with which the daybreak from on high has looked upon us,


Look from Your set-apart dwelling place, from the heavens, and bless Your people Yisra’ĕl and the land which You have given us, as You swore to our fathers, “a land flowing with milk and honey.” ’


If, then, there is any encouragement in Messiah, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of Spirit, if any affection and compassion,


But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his tender affections from him, how does the love of Elohim stay in him?
