14 Therefore She’ol has made itself wide and opened its mouth without law. Their splendour and their crowd and their uproar, and he who is exulting within her, shall go down into it.

The joy of the tambourine shall cease, the noise of those who rejoice shall end, the joy of the lyre shall cease.


For Topheth was ordained of old, even for the sovereign it has been prepared. He has made it deep and large, its fire pit with much wood; the breath of יהוה, as a stream of burning sulphur, is burning in it!


The time has come, and the day has arrived. ‘Let not the buyer rejoice, nor the seller mourn, for wrath is on all its crowd.


In that night Bĕlshatstsar, sovereign of the Kasdim, was killed.

“And take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down by gluttony, and drunkenness, and worries of this life, and that day come on you suddenly.
