And to his son I give one tribe, so that My servant Dawiḏ shall always have a lamp before Me in Yerushalayim, the city which I have chosen for Myself, to put My Name there.


But for Dawiḏ’s sake יהוה his Elohim gave him a lamp in Yerushalayim, to raise up his son after him and by establishing Yerushalayim,


“And I shall add to your days fifteen years, and deliver you and this city from the hand of the sovereign of Ashshur, and shall defend this city for My own sake, and for the sake of Dawiḏ My servant.” ’ ”


“O יהוה, for Your servant’s sake, and according to Your own heart, You have done all this greatness, in making known all these great matters.


“Like hovering birds, so does יהוה of hosts protect Yerushalayim – protecting and delivering, passing over and rescuing.”


“And out of the hand of the sovereign of Ashshur I shall deliver you and this city, and protect this city.” ’


“I, I am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake, and remember your sins no more.


And they shall serve יהוה their Elohim and Dawiḏ their sovereign, whom I raise up for them.


“But I acted for My Name’s sake, that it should not be profaned before the eyes of the nations among whom they were – before whose eyes I had made Myself known to them, to bring them out of the land of Mitsrayim.


“Therefore say to the house of Yisra’ĕl, ‘Thus said the Master יהוה, “I do not do this for your sake, O house of Yisra’ĕl, but for My set-apart Name’s sake, which you have profaned among the nations wherever you went.


יהוה of hosts shall shield them. And they shall devour and trample on sling stones. And they shall drink, roar as if with wine, and they shall be filled like basins, like the corners of the slaughter-place.


who is the pledge of our inheritance, until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His esteem.
