Isaiah 28:21 - The Scriptures 2009

21 For יהוה rises up as at Mount Peratsim, and He is wroth as at the Valley of Giḇ‛on, to do His work, His strange work, and to do His deed, His strange deed.

And Dawiḏ came to Ba‛al Peratsim, and Dawiḏ struck them there. And he said, “יהוה has broken through my enemies before me, like a breakthrough of water.” So he called the name of that place Ba‛al Peratsim.


And Dawiḏ did so, as יהוה commanded him, and smote the Philistines from Geḇa as far as Gezer.


And they went up to Ba‛al Peratsim, and Dawiḏ struck them there. Then Dawiḏ said, “Elohim has broken through my enemies by my hand like a breakthrough of water.” So they called the name of that place Ba‛al Peratsim.


And Dawiḏ did as Elohim commanded him, and they struck the army of the Philistines from Giḇ‛on as far as Gezer.


Who would rise up for me against evil-doers? Who would stand up for me against workers of wickedness?


“And it shall be, when יהוה has performed all His work on Mount Tsiyon and on Yerushalayim, that I shall punish the fruit of the greatness of the heart of the sovereign of Ashshur, and the boasting of his haughty looks.


As often as it passes through it shall take you, for it shall pass through every morning, and by day and by night. And it shall be only trembling to understand the message.”

“Look among the nations and see, and be amazed, be amazed! For a work is being wrought in your days which you would not believe if it were told.


And יהוה threw them into confusion before Yisra’ĕl, and they struck them with a great slaughter at Giḇ‛on, and pursued them along the way that goes to Bĕyth Ḥoron, and struck them as far as Azĕqah and Maqqĕḏah.


And it came to be, as they fled before Yisra’ĕl and were on the descent of Bĕyth Ḥoron, that יהוה threw down large hailstones from the heavens on them as far as Azĕqah, and they died. There were more who died from the hailstones than those whom the sons of Yisra’ĕl had killed with the sword.


Then Yehoshua spoke to יהוה in the day when יהוה gave the Amorites over to the children of Yisra’ĕl, and he said before the eyes of Yisra’ĕl, “Sun, stand still over Giḇ‛on; and moon, in the Valley of Ayalon.”
