And you shall rest, and no one would make you afraid, and many shall seek your favour.


For the city of defence is lonely, a home forsaken and left like a wilderness – there the calf feeds, and there it lies down, and shall consume its branches.


And the lambs shall feed in their pasture, and strangers shall eat in the waste places of the fat ones.


And it shall be in that day that a man keeps alive a young cow and two sheep.


And it shall be, that he shall eat curds because of the plenty milk he gets, for everyone left in the land shall eat curds.


“Stand by the way and watch, O inhabitant of Aro‛ĕr. Ask him who flees and her who escapes; say, ‘What has been done?’


“And the corpses of this people shall be food for the birds of the heavens and for the beasts of the earth, with none to frighten them away.


“And I shall make Rabbah a pasture for camels and Ammon a resting place for flocks. And you shall know that I am יהוה.”


And they shall have borne their shame, and all their trespass they committed against Me, when they dwell safely in their own land, with none to make them afraid,


But each one shall sit under his vine and under his fig tree, with no one to make them afraid, for the mouth of יהוה of hosts has spoken.


And the seacoast shall be pastures, shepherds’ meadows and enclosures for flocks.


And the children of Gaḏ built Diḇon and Ataroth and Aro‛ĕr,


“From Aro‛ĕr, which is on the edge of the wadi Arnon, and the city that is by the wadi, as far as Gil‛aḏ, there was not one city too high for us. יהוה our Elohim gave all to us.


“And this land, which we possessed at that time, from Aro‛ĕr, which is by the wadi Arnon, and half the mountains of Gil‛aḏ and its cities, I gave to the Re’uḇĕnites and the Gaḏites.


and their border was from Aro‛ĕr, which is on the bank of the wadi Arnon, and the city that is in the middle of the wadi, and all the plain by Mĕyḏeḇa,


and their border was Ya‛zĕr, and all the cities of Gil‛aḏ, and half the land of the children of Ammon as far as Aro‛ĕr, which is before Rabbah,
