6 “Whoever sheds man’s blood, by man his blood is shed, for in the image of Elohim has He made man.

See, You have driven me from the face of the ground today, and I am hidden from Your face. I shall be a fugitive and a wanderer on the earth, and it shall be that anyone who finds me kills me.


And Re’uḇĕn answered them, saying, “Did I not speak to you, saying, ‘Do not sin against the boy,’ and you would not listen? And see, his blood is now required of us.”


This is the book of the genealogy of Aḏam. In the day that Elohim created man, He made him in the likeness of Elohim.


“How much more, when wrong men have killed a righteous man in his own house on his bed, should I not now require his blood at your hand and remove you from the earth?”


“And now, do not leave him unpunished, for you are a wise man and know what you should do to him, and shall bring his grey hair down to She’ol with blood.”


And Athalyah was the mother of Aḥazyahu. And when she saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the offspring of the reign.


So they took hold of her, and she went by way of the horses’ entrance to the sovereign’s house, and was put to death there.


And all the people of the land rejoiced. And the city had rest, for they had slain Athalyahu with the sword in the sovereign’s house.


And his servants conspired against him, and killed him in his own house.


Against You, You alone, have I sinned, And done evil in Your eyes; That You might be proven right in Your words; Be clear when You judge.


A man oppressed by blood-guilt flees into a pit; Let no one help him.


a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;


and does not bring it to the door of the Tent of Appointment, to bring an offering to יהוה before the Dwelling Place of יהוה, blood-guilt is reckoned to that man. He has shed blood, and that man shall be cut off from among his people,


‘And a man who strikes the being of any man shall certainly be put to death.


But if he has stricken him with an instrument of iron, so that he dies, he is a murderer. The murderer shall certainly be put to death.


And the congregation shall rescue the man-slayer from the hand of the revenger of blood, and the congregation shall return him to the city of refuge where he had fled, and he shall remain there until the death of the high priest who was anointed with the set-apart oil.


And do not profane the land where you are, for blood profanes the land, and the land is not pardoned for the blood that is shed on it, except by the blood of him who shed it.


Then יהושע said to him, “Return your sword to its place, for all who take the sword shall die by the sword.


for it is a servant of Elohim to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid, for it does not bear the sword in vain. For it is a servant of Elohim, a revenger to execute wrath on him who practises evil.


For a man indeed should not cover his head, since he is the likeness and esteem of Elohim, but woman is the esteem of man.


“But when anyone hates his neighbour, and shall lie in wait for him and rise against him and strike his being so that he dies, then he shall flee to one of these cities,


With it we bless our Elohim and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the likeness of Elohim.


He who brings into captivity shall go into captivity, he who kills with the sword has to be killed with the sword. Here is the endurance and the belief of the set-apart ones.


Thus did Elohim repay the evil of Aḇimeleḵ, which he had done to his father to kill his seventy brothers.


And Shemu’ĕl said, “As your sword bereaved women, let your mother be bereaved among women too.” Shemu’ĕl then hewed Aḡaḡ to pieces before יהוה in Gilgal.
