23 And Yosĕph said to the people, “Look, I have bought you and your land today for Pharaoh. Look, here is seed for you, and you shall sow the land.

“And the seven lean and ugly cows which came up after them are seven years, and the seven empty heads scorched by the east wind are seven years of scarcity of food.


“For two years now the scarcity of food has been in the land, and there are still five years in which there is neither ploughing nor harvesting.


Only the ground of the priests he did not buy, for the priests had from what Pharaoh gave them by law, and they ate that which Pharaoh gave them by law. Therefore they did not sell their ground.

He who tills his land is satisfied with bread, But he who pursues vanities is lacking heart.


Much food is in the tillable ground of the poor, But lack of right-ruling sweeps it away.


Sow your seed in the morning, and until evening do not let your hand rest; since you do not know which prosper, this or that, or whether both alike are good.


“For as the rain comes down, and the snow from the heavens, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, and give seed to the sower and bread to the eater,


Who then is a trustworthy and wise servant, whom his master set over his household, to give them food in season?”


And He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, shall supply and increase the seed you have sown and increase the fruit of your righteousness,
