13 “He who is born in your house, and he who is bought with your silver, has to be circumcised. So shall My covenant be in your flesh, for an everlasting covenant.

And Aḇram said, “See, You have given me no seed, and see, one born in my house is my heir!”


“And I shall establish My covenant between Me and you and your seed after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be Elohim to you and your seed after you.


Come and let us sell him to the Yishma‛ĕlites, and let not our hand be upon him, for he is our brother, our flesh. And his brothers listened.


And the Miḏanites had sold him in Mitsrayim to Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh and captain of the guard.


And Yosĕph had been taken down to Mitsrayim. And Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, a Mitsrian, bought him from the Yishma‛ĕlites who had taken him down there.

and said to them, “According to our ability we have redeemed our brothers, the Yehuḏim, who were sold to the nations. And you even sell your brothers! Or should they be sold to us?” And they were silent and found not a word to say.


but any servant a man has bought for silver, when you have circumcised him, then let him eat of it.


“And he who kidnaps a man and sells him, or if he is found in his hand, shall certainly be put to death.


“When you buy a Hebrew servant, he serves six years, and in the seventh he goes out free, for naught.


“If his master has given him a wife, and she has borne him sons or daughters, the wife and her children are her master’s, and he goes out by himself.


‘But when the priest buys a being with his silver, he does eat of it. And one who is born in his house does eat his food.


but as he was unable to pay, his master commanded that he be sold, with his wife and children and all that he had, and payment to be made.
