Ezekiel 45:9 - The Scriptures 2009

9 Thus said the Master יהוה, “Enough, you princes of Yisra’ĕl! Put away violence and plundering, and do right-ruling and righteousness, and stop your evictions of My people,” declares the Master יהוה.

“Learn to do good! Seek right-ruling, reprove the oppressor, defend the fatherless, plead for the widow.


Thus said יהוה, “Do right-ruling and righteousness, and deliver him who is robbed out of the hand of the oppressor. Do not maltreat nor do violence to the stranger, the fatherless, or the widow, nor shed innocent blood in this place.


“As a well flows with water, so she flows with her evil. Violence and destruction are heard in her. Before Me continually are suffering and smiting.


and shall say to the rebellious, to the house of Yisra’ĕl, ‘Thus said the Master יהוה, “O house of Yisra’ĕl, enough of all these abominations of yours,


The violence has grown into a rod of wrongdoing. There is none of them, and none of its crowd, and none of their riches, and none eminent among them.


Make a chain, for the land has been filled with crimes of blood, and the city has been filled with violence.


And He said to me, “Have you seen, O son of man? Is it a small matter to the house of Yehuḏah to do the abominations which they have done here? For they have filled the land with violence, and turn back to provoke Me. And see, they are putting the branch to My nose.


Hate evil and love good, and set up right-ruling in the gate. It might be that יהוה Elohim of hosts shows favour to the remnant of Yosĕph.


“And let right-ruling roll on like water, and righteousness like a mighty stream.


“You have driven the women of My people from their pleasant houses. You have taken away My splendour from their children forever.


“Are there still treasures of wrongness in the house of the wrong, and the short measure that is an abomination?”


“Thus said יהוה of hosts, ‘Execute true right-ruling, show loving-commitment and compassion everyone to his brother.


These are the words you should do: speak the truth to one another, judge with truth and right-ruling for peace in your gates.


And soldiers also asked him, saying, “And what shall we do?” And he said to them, “Do not intimidate anyone or accuse falsely, and be satisfied with your pay.”


For we have spent enough of our past lifetime in doing the desire of the nations, having walked in indecencies, lusts, drunkenness, orgies, wild parties, and abominable idolatries,
