And Ḥiram sovereign of Tsor sent his servants to Shelomoh, because he heard that they had anointed him sovereign in place of his father, for Ḥiram had always loved Dawiḏ.


“And now, command that they cut down cedars for me from Leḇanon. And let my servants be with your servants, and let me pay you wages for your servants according to whatever you say. For you know there is none among us who knows to cut timber like the Tsiḏonians.”


And the children of the half-tribe of Menashsheh dwelt in the land. They increased from Bashan to Ba‛al Ḥermon, that is, to Senir, or Mount Ḥermon.


“And now, send me at once a man who knows to work in gold, and in silver, and in bronze, and in iron, and in purple and crimson and blue, and knowing to engrave with the skilled men who are with me in Yehuḏah and Yerushalayim, whom Dawiḏ my father has prepared.


The trees of יהוה are satisfied, The cedars of Leḇanon which He planted,


The voice of יהוה is breaking the cedars, יהוה is breaking the cedars of Leḇanon in pieces.


The righteous one flourishes like a palm tree, He grows like a cedar in Leḇanon.


Come with me from Leḇanon, My bride, with me from Leḇanon. Look from the top of Amana, From the top of Shenir and Ḥermon, From the dens of lions, From the mountains of the leopards.


“Even the cypress trees rejoice over you, and the cedars of Leḇanon, saying, ‘Since you were cut down, no woodcutter has come up against us.’


“Your borders are in the heart of the seas. Your builders have perfected your loveliness.
