11 Now I know that יהוה is greater than all the mighty ones, indeed in the matter in which they acted proudly, above them.

And the woman said to Ěliyahu, “Now by this I know that you are a man of Elohim, and that the word of יהוה in your mouth is truth.”


And he returned to the man of Elohim, he and all his company, and came and stood before him and said, “See, now I know that there is no Elohim in all the earth, except in Yisra’ĕl. And now, please take a gift from your servant.”


For great is יהוה and greatly to be praised; And He is to be feared above all mighty ones.


“And the House which I build is great, for our Elohim is greater than all mighty ones.


and gave signs and wonders against Pharaoh, and against all his servants, and against all the people of his land. For You knew that they acted proudly against them. And You made a Name for Yourself, as it is this day.


“But they and our fathers acted proudly, and hardened their necks, and did not obey Your commands.


and warned them, to bring them back to Your Torah. But they acted proudly, and did not obey Your commands, and sinned against Your right-rulings, ‘which if a man does, he shall live by them.’ And they gave the rebellious shoulder and hardened their necks, and would not hear.


You rebuked the proud, cursed ones, Who are straying from Your commands.


For I know that יהוה is great, And our Master is above all mighty ones.


Love יהוה, all you His lovingly-committed ones! For יהוה guards the trustworthy ones, And exceedingly repays the doer of pride.


For יהוה is a great Ěl, And a great Sovereign above all mighty ones.


For You, יהוה, are the Most High over all the earth, You shall be greatly exalted, over all mighty ones.


come, let us act wisely towards them, lest they increase, and it shall be when fighting befalls us, that they shall join our enemies and fight against us, and shall go up out of the land.”


and he said, “When you deliver the Hebrew women, and see them on the birthstools, if it is a son, then you shall put him to death, but if it is a daughter, then she shall live.”


And Pharaoh commanded all his people, saying, “Throw every son who is born into the river, and keep alive every daughter.”


And Mosheh and Aharon came in to Pharaoh and said to him, “Thus said יהוה Elohim of the Hebrews, ‘Till when shall you refuse to humble yourself before Me? Let My people go, so that they serve Me.


‘And I shall pass through the land of Mitsrayim on that night, and shall strike all the first-born in the land of Mitsrayim, both man and beast. And on all the mighty ones of Mitsrayim I shall execute judgment. I am יהוה.


And the Mitsrites shall know that I am יהוה, when I am esteemed through Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen.


And יהוה strengthened the heart of Pharaoh sovereign of Mitsrayim, and he pursued the children of Yisra’ĕl, but the children of Yisra’ĕl went out defiantly.


“Who is like You, O יהוה, among the mighty ones? Who is like You, great in set-apartness, awesome in praises, working wonders?


And Pharaoh said, “Who is יהוה, that I should obey His voice to let Yisra’ĕl go? I do not know יהוה, nor am I going to let Yisra’ĕl go.”


“You are no longer to give the people straw to make bricks as before. Let them go and gather straw for themselves.


Now I, Neḇuḵaḏnetstsar, am praising and exalting and esteeming the Sovereign of the heavens, for all His works are truth, and His ways right. And those who walk in pride He is able to humble.


and the Mitsrites were burying all their first-born, whom יהוה had stricken among them. Also on their mighty ones יהוה had executed judgments.


“He did mightily with His arm; He scattered the proud in the thought of their hearts.


But He gives greater favour. Because of this He says, “Elohim resists the proud, but gives favour to the humble.”


In the same way, you younger ones, be subject to elders. And gird yourselves with humility toward one another, for “Elohim resists the proud, but gives favour to the humble.”


“Do not multiply words so proudly, proudly; let no arrogance come from your mouth, for יהוה is an Ěl of knowledge, and by Him deeds are weighed.
