4 “And command the people, saying, You are about to pass over into the border of your brothers, the descendants of Ěsaw, who live in Sĕ‛ir, and they are afraid of you. So be on your guard.

So Ěsaw dwelt in Mount Sĕ‛ir. Ěsaw is Eḏom.


“Then the chiefs of Eḏom were troubled, the mighty men of Mo’aḇ, trembling grips them, all the inhabitants of Kena‛an melted.


“Fear and dread fell on them, by the greatness of Your arm they are as silent as a stone, until Your people pass over, O יהוה, until the people, whom You have bought, pass over.


Let your light so shine before men, so that they see your good works and praise your Father who is in the heavens.


And He said to them, “Mind, and beware of greed, because one’s life does not consist in the excess of his possessions.”


See then that you walk exactly, not as unwise, but as wise,


You have gone around this mountain long enough, turn northward.


“Do not loathe an Eḏomite, for he is your brother. Do not loathe a Mitsrian, because you were a stranger in his land.


in order that you be blameless and faultless, children of Elohim without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,


Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.
